Introducing the new Sony A7C R

A more affordable version of the high-end A7R V camera. This compact model offers key ergonomic updates and impressive features, making it a great choice for street photography and more. In the world of mirrorless cameras, Sony has consistently been a trailblazer, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in terms of both technology and affordability. The latest addition to their lineup, the Sony A7C series, is no exception. These cameras promise premium features without the premium price tag.

The Sony A7C Series: A New Era of Compact Full-Frame Cameras

Sony’s A7C series comprises two models, the A7C and the A7C II, both of which are designed to offer a compact and lightweight full-frame camera experience without compromising on performance. Here’s what sets them apart:

The A7C R boasts a softer, grippier material and a deeper handle, addressing ergonomic issues found on previous Sony models. It also includes an add-on grip for added comfort. The camera weighs just 515 grams and is nearly half the size of its larger counterpart, making it highly portable.

With a flip-out display and OLED electronic viewfinder, the A7C R provides a clear and immersive shooting experience. It offers in-body stabilization with 7.0 stops of compensation, ensuring steady shots even in small form-factor.

While the A7C R may lack some features important to professionals, it still delivers impressive performance. It has a 61-megapixel sensor and offers 8fps for capturing high-resolution RAW images. The autofocus system is similar to the A7R V, with 693 autofocus points and 79 percent coverage.

In terms of video capabilities, the A7C R supports 4K 60p full-frame video and 6.2K oversampled 1.5x cropped 4K 60p video. It offers various shooting modes, including S-Log3, S-Cinetone, and S-gamut3 Cine, ensuring professional-grade footage. However, it does not support 8K video due to potential overheating issues.

One of the highlights of the A7C R is its price. At $3,000, it is $900 less expensive than the A7R V, making it an attractive option for budget-conscious buyers. The camera is set to be released in fall 2023.

Experience outstanding image quality, improved ergonomics, and impressive features with the Sony A7C R. Upgrade your photography game at a more affordable price.
