WoW Classic Phases: World of Warcraft Classic, the game will be fixed at patch 1.12, known as the Drums of War, released on August 22, 2006. Blizzard has stated the reason for this specific patch, in particular, is because it represents the vanilla version of WoW at its most feature-complete, stable, and well balanced.

However, even though WoW Classic will launch on August 26, 2019, at its base form, Blizzard has promised a series of rollout phases as it advanced the progression and story featured in World of Warcraft – including the extensions of new dungeons, the Darkmoon Faire, the Ahn’Qiraj War Effort, and the Nazzramas Scourge Invasion.

You can find the planned roadmap of the other content updates below to prepare for the eventual progression of WoW Classic’s story and other features. Blizzard has also said that if players are interested, they may eventually progress new content phases into The Burning Crusade expansion, but nothing has been confirmed.

Update: Blizzard has said that although no hard date has been set for Phase 2, only that it will roll out before the end of the year, the developers are breaking out the Dire Maul dungeon from the rest of Phase 2, which will be open during the week of October 15.

What is World of Warcraft: Classic?

WoW: Classic takes the open-world fantasy MMORPG back to the days before the increases, so everything from The Burning Crusade to the Battle for Azeroth never occurred. It won’t be the Day 1 version necessarily, as the organization used Patch 1.12: Drums of War to build the game back up.

How much does WoW Classic cost?

As for price, this server option is free as long as you have a subscription for the current game, which costs $15 a month.

What content is available in WoW Classic?

World of Warcraft Classic has received waves of content updates since its launch last year, tying in with the content releases for the original game. It’s still unclear if the game will get any ‘new’ developments such as The Burning Crusade or Wrath of the Lich King. Blizzard has said it’s “not opposed” to adding additions to the Classic experience, but no decision has yet been made.

At the moment of writing, WoW Classic is currently on Phase 5 of the PVE content schedule (see below), and the Ahn’Qiraj raid has been unlocked so, once you reach the max level, you’ll have access to several charges and World Bosses to tackle.

    The Phases of Classic WoW

World of Warcraft Classic has been divided into six different phases, roughly following the original vanilla content cycle, to give players time to endure content without more inclusive rewards from last exercises devaluing earlier ones, such as the PvPHonor System and Battleground gear outclassing much of the Molten Core raid gear. Check out our Vanilla WoW Overview to see how this content was initially released.

Several content releases have shifted, releasing earlier than their planned phase to smooth out activities and content cycles. For instance, the first Battlegrounds (Alterac Valley &Warsong Gulch) were released on December 10, ahead of the planned release of Phase 3 on February 12. The under phases have been adjusted, with actual release dates listed accordingly.

Here’s the complete list of phases and updates coming to WoW Classic.

    Conclusion

We haven’t yet determined precisely when phases 2-6 will occur, and PvP content is notably missing from the list above. That’s because we’re still assessing our alternatives regarding PvP rewards, as they also changed over time (both in power and in phases of which PvP reward items were available).

While we can’t elaborate on every detail of every step we’re going to take (yet), we’re here reading all of your questions, and we’re going to keep the answers coming. Share your valuable thoughts and suggestions in the comment box section below.
