Logitech has recently unveiled the Reach, a new webcam featuring a flexible and articulating arm that allows for easy movement and downward-facing video recording. It is designed to be the ideal tool for non-digital show-and-tell presentations, enabling users to capture video of items on their desk. The Logitech Reach is perfect for interactive remote meetings, online tutoring, livestreaming, and various other presentations.

To optimize the user experience, Logitech recommends laying out the content to be shown first and then adjusting the camera accordingly. The articulating arm of the Reach moves along multiple axes, similar to a microphone stand, providing increased versatility in capturing different angles. It allows for vertical movement and lossless zoom up to 4.3x, with a grip to adjust the camera’s position. Built-in guidance indicators help maintain image stability while the camera is in motion. This combination of features brings forth unique perspectives and eliminates the difficulties of sharing non-digital content.

The Reach camera is an upgraded version of the popular Logitech Streamcam, featuring improved glass optics and a smart autofocus feature. It offers the same video capabilities of 1080p/60fps. The device ensures a seamless experience as it connects via USB and automatically integrates with most computers and streaming platforms. Additionally, it comes with a low-profile edge clamp for added convenience and compactness.

Pricing and availability details for the Reach are not yet disclosed by Logitech. However, an official survey suggests that early adopters may be offered a discounted price range of $300 to $400, while the standalone Streamcam typically costs around $180. The Reach will not be available through official channels, as Logitech plans to fund the camera through Indiegogo Enterprise. The campaign start date is yet to be confirmed.

If you are considering purchasing only the mount to use with your own camera, unfortunately, Logitech does not offer that option. Logitech product lead Gaurav Bradoo stated that market research indicated the need for an end-to-end solution rather than just a mount.

In addition to the camera division, Logitech has been actively expanding its product portfolio. It recently refreshed the Pebble line of keyboards and introduced an update to the G Pro X Superlight gaming mouse.
