Spotify
The popular music streaming company, has begun testing a brand-new feature that automatically downloads your recent favourites to a playlist for offline listening. The idea for this feature was introduced over two years ago and is currently being harnesses as we speak.
In a recent tweet, the CEO of Spotify, Daniel Ek, shared information about the feature named “Your Offline Mix”. Although no further details were given, we know the feature is being tested, and we can hope for a release soon. With this playlist, you never have to miss your favourite tunes again, even without an internet connection.
Have you ever forgotten to download music before a flight? Fear not, Spotify has got you covered with their new playlists that can store multiple hours of listening time. Already able to download playlists for offline playback, some users have reported seeing this feature in their apps. Though it’s unclear where this feature is rolling out and if it’s available for free users. We have reached out to Spotify for comment and will update the story as soon as we hear back. Keep an ear out for updates on this exciting new feature!
Following its discovery by reverse engineer Jane Manchun Wong in 2020. This highly anticipated feature will soon be available to Spotify’s 500 million users, providing them with a convenient way to enjoy their favourite tunes offline. While Spotify may have been lagging YouTube Music’s offline mixtape, it’s good to see that they’ve caught up with this vital feature. Let’s wait and see what else they have in store for their loyal users.
